Membership Renewals new cards available now

Following the recent changes to the committe I am pleased to say that new Zoom membership cards are now available to those of you who renewed at the end of 2007.  I will be carrying them with me to Monday and Saturday swimming sessions and plan for either Jean or I to get along to a Zoom run session to hand them over (or ask JJ and Tim to take those of the regular runners).

Remember these allow you to gain discounts at local sports stores, although I know not everyone asks to see them, best to be prepared!

If anyone suddenly remembers that they need to renew (and yes I do have a list), please provide a £25 cheque for senior membership, £15 if you are a student or £10 for junior (under 18) and hand it over at one of the training sessions or mail to me...

Graham Perkins, 15 The Litzo, 37-39 Boscombe Spa Road, Bournemouth, BH5 1AS

If any of your contact details have changed since you joined then please provide this information so we can keep our records up to date.  We want to provide more regular communications to Zoom members this year so up to date contact details are required to keep you connected.

Thanks,

Graham / Jean Perkins

Club Nominations for Committee Roles

Download club_chairperson.doc Download club_secretary.doc

Dear all,

Thank you to all who came and participated at the AGM last night. For those unable to make it Julie will be sending around the minutes of the meeting to keep everyone up to date.

At the AGM both Dave Doust and I have stepped down from our current roles as Secretary and Chairman of the club. Dave has a new job and can no longer commit the time to the role. I have been undertaking the role of Secretary for most of the last year as well as my duties as Chairman and Head coach. Personally I want to dedicate more quality time to developing triathlon coaching  and I am still very much committed to the club and developing the coaching offering to club members and it is with this in mind that it is time for me to hand over the Chairman’s role.

So we now have two vacancies as Club Chairman and Secretary and I have attached the job descriptions to this email. Last night we agreed a process for the nominations of the posts which is outlined below.

1.       If you would like to undertake either of the above roles, in the first instance please contact me for an informal chat to discuss the kinds of tasks involved in these jobs. (If you would like to nominate someone please speak to them first before sending any nomination details to me.) Please contact me before December 21st to allow time for further consideration. At the AGM we discussed the possibility of a job share between two or more people, this would be considered, we would need an amendment to our current constitution to allow this to happen that could be made at an Extraordinary General Meeting (EGM).

2.       Nominations for the roles should be sent to me (with a proposer and seconder) by Friday 11th January.

3.       These can then be voted on at an EGM scheduled for Tuesday 29th Jan (Venue to be arranged)

Once again I would like to offer my thanks to the Coaches and Committee members that have taken time out of their busy lives to make the club such a successful one so far and look forward to continued and developing successes.

Kindest regards

Rob J

PS. It would be remiss of me not to remind you of the turbo session at the Chiropractic college tonight from 6.30pm. Please make sure you are there to set up your Turbo in good time. Due to a college function we are limited on space and therefore the circuit element will not take place tonight. So a longer Turbo set will ensue (£2.) The normal running session takes place from Littledown tomorrow again at 6.30pm. Saturday morning activities as normal 9.00am Ringwood for Swim and 10.30 onwards for Bike and Run sessions. We still have a couple of slots left for the Christmas party, please if you are going make sure you have paid your fees as we need to pay the hotel. Thanks
