Its your duty to kick some Tri booty this summer :-)
The Cardiff Triple is a team event (teams of four) held in an enclosed stadium, which means it is an excellent spectator event, really good fun, and ideal for an inter-club race day. It is three very short triathlons in one, the first leg is as follows:
There is a 5-minute break after the last competitor finishes and then the second leg starts:
Again there is a 5-minute break before the final leg:
Times are aggregated and the fastest team wins! There are several "waves" during the day, organised by ability so that each wave is competitive and there is also a junior wave.
This Event is on the same day as the National Relays in Nottingham 2nd August so we have some options around which events we would like to enter teams. Foe the athletes that would like to test themselves at the highest level we can look at putting teams into the National - Please let me know if you would like to enter either event and we can see the level of support.

Want to race open water swimming?
Please find attached an entry form for the Stert Sea Swim. This is a 2400m (approx) sea swim from Burnham on Sea beach to Stert Island and back. It is to be held on Sunday 27th July 2008 at 1.30pm.

We had a number of Zoom athletes out over the weekend at the Winchester Tri and all put in very creditable performances. It was a tough bike ride with strong headwinds on the way out and an incredibly dangerous turnaround point to negotiate! (One rider to our knowledge hit by a car!)

If any one is interested, Catherina Mckiernan (runcatherina.com) Master ChiRunning Instructor and the 1998 London Marathon Winner is leading a workshop on Saturday 19th April in Bournemouth.
She will be teaching people to run effortless and injury free by combining focuses from tai chi with modern bio-mechanics.
One of the main differences between how we "normally" run and Chirunning is chi runners use gravity for propulsion in preference to leg muscles!
Thousands of people have benefited from ChiRunning - especially Triathletes who love the energy conservation that ChiRunning offers.
There are a few spaces left on Catherina's workshop and it's at a special price of £99.
Please contact her directly if you fancy it.
Please find attached the lates run schedule for Tuesday and Thurdays up to the 6th May.
Regards
Rob
P.S Next Wednesday we start our regular bike sessions from the Commodore Pub on Southbourne overcliff. This season I will be coaching the sessions and will structure them so that they remain both focused and as safe as possible. We will be using the Hengistbury to Boscombe loop and this will give us the opportunity to practice skills as well as build in pace work, and some running off the bike sessions as we progress. For these sessions please make sure you wear helmets (No helmet, no ride, at least with the group!) I know some of you find it difficult to get there on time for 6.30pm so we will aim to meet at 6.30 and then allow a further 10 minutes, during which times I can brief the session with the aim of leaving no later than 6.45pm
